Intellicue Will Acquire FoneBlast Technology
Downingtown, PA – 9/1/2007
IntellicueTM announced today that it plans to acquire the intellectual property
of FoneBlast LLC, a provider of telephone-based reminder services, for use as the
foundation for its upcoming messaging platform. “FoneBlast’s calendar-based personal
reminder system will serve as the core of Intellicue’s upcoming Community Messaging
Platform,” said Intellicue Founder and CEO Mark Sarojak.
In a manner similar to cable television or satellite radio, Intellicue’s messaging
platform will employ “narrowcasting” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/narrowcast) to allow groups,
organizations, and businesses to send focused data to specific sets of recipients.
In this publisher-subscriber model, a publisher will be able to create an Intellicue
“channel” on which they will send their messages to the community of subscribers
who are interested in receiving those messages. Subscribers will have the responsibility
to manage their own contact information and choose which channels they wish to subscribe
to.
Sarojak added, “Unlike other messaging systems, Intellicue puts the power of managing
contact information in the hands of each and every subscriber. This eliminates the
need for the publisher to create and repeatedly update large contact lists. Additionally,
it keeps the channel’s contact information as fresh as possible, helping maximize
the odds of successful delivery for every message sent.”
In addition to placing phone calls, the new messaging system will be capable of
delivering messages and reminders via email and text messages (SMS).
